Alleged threats lead to pair of arrests
Police responding to a report of alleged threats arrested two suspects while seizing a stolen handgun and drugs late Thursday night.
Chase Bass, 23, is accused of Possession of a Stolen Firearm. Rachael Higgins, 27, is accused of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a stolen firearm.
Officers were called to the Sharon Motel on Cornhusker Highway in Lincoln around 11:30 Thursday night to investigate a report of a man threatening to shoot people. The caller said the man was armed and under the influence of methamphetamine.
Police made contact with three men and two women in a motel room. Officers reported the smell of marijuana and obtained a search warrant.
They located a 9mm handgun that had been reported stolen out of Omaha, 2.8 grams of marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
The suspects were arrested.
