OPD receives forensics accreditation

The Omaha Police Department announced today that their Forensic Investigation Section achieved accreditation by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board.
ANAB is the largest and most influential forensic accrediting body in the United States and throughout North America.
The organization uses an international standard that ensures accredited agencies are operating with independence and verifiable impartiality in all areas of accreditation.

The scope of accreditation for the Forensic Investigations Section includes: crime scene investigation and documentation, latent print examination, evidence collection, 3D measurement and forensic mapping, presumptive testing and incident reconstruction
ANAB will conduct continuous monitoring and on-going assessments, including on-site visits, to ensure standards are upheld.
