Man arrested for attacking victim with hammer

Lincoln Police arrested a 40-year-old for tying up a man and assaulting him with a hammer.
LPD said on May 2, two men were doing drugs and drinking at a home in the 3200 Block of S 12th Street when an argument ensued over money between the victim and Jacob Brehm, 40.
The victim left and walked to his home in the 3200 Block of N 45th Street.
A short time later, Brehm and an unknown male arrived at the victim’s home, and tackled him, kicked him, and struck him with a hammer multiple times, police said.
Brehm and the other suspect then shoved a sock covered in cleaning solvent in the victim’s mouth, and tape it to keep it in place.
The victim was placed in the bathtub and struck again with the hammer before both suspects left the scene.
Brehm and the other man stole $500 worth of items, including a jacket, a gold chain, a tablet, and a cell phone.
The victim suffered multiple lacerations to his head and face.
On May 4, Brehm was contacted by his parole officer and lodged and cited for robbery, second-degree assault, and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
