OMAHA, Neb. (KOLN) - J’Shawn Unger earned his fourth save of the season in Nebraska’s narrow 6-5 win over Creighton. The sophomore closer was called upon in the 8th inning and the Huskers clinging to a 1-run lead.

Unger worked a 3-up, 3-down frame. Then in the 9th inning, the hard-throwing righty stranded the game-tying run in scoring position as the Huskers secured a series-opening victory over their rival.

Offensively, Nebraska was led by Dylan Carey’s 2-for-3 performance at the plate. Mac Moyer finished 1-for-3 while driving in 3 runs.

Tuesday’s win extends Nebraska’s winning streak to seven games. The Huskers, who moved up to No. 19 in the national polls, have won 18 of their last 19 games.

Nebraska returns to action on Friday when it hosts Penn State at Hawks Field.
