Today in History - March 8: Creighton great Doug McDermott finishes senior season with career-high

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A Creighton Basketball great ended his senior season on a high note on this day in 2014.

Forward Doug McDermott scored a career-high 45 points in his senior season to become the eighth player in Division I history to surpass 3,000 career points.

McDermott reached the milestone with a 3-pointer midway through the second half.

The Bluejays defeated Providence, 88-73.
