Public hearings set for Omaha city budget, department spending

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Here are a few items on the agenda for Tuesday’s Omaha City Council meeting:
- At 6:30 p.m., there will be a public hearing on Mayor Ewing’s recommended budget and capital improvement program.
Between 1 and 4 p.m., there will be budget hearings for the following departments:
- 1 p.m. - Police
- 1:25 p.m. - Fire
- 1:45 p.m. - Parks, Recreation, and Public Property
- 2 p.m. - Convention and Visitor’s Bureau
- 2:15 p.m. - Law
- 2:25 p.m. - Library
- 2:40 p.m. - Break
- 2:50 p.m. - Human Resources
- 3:05 p.m. - Human Rights and Relations
- 3:20 p.m. - Planning
- 3:40 p.m. - Public Works
- 4 p.m. - Finance / Other City Budget Issues
The Omaha City Council meets at 2 p.m. most Tuesdays. They are livestreamed on the city’s website.
