OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The 2025 boys soccer state championships ended in a Warrior sweep.
The Westside Warriors captured the Class A championship with a 3-2 win over Omaha South. The Schuyler Warriors defeated Bennington, 2-1 to take home the program’s first state title.
Westside stepped on the throttle to start the title match. Ellis Oksman fed Sebastian Perez Rojas who scored a mere 51 seconds into the game. Four minutes later, Oksman sent it on to Tiergan Haley in front of a wide open net to make it 2-0. Omaha South’s Dylan Holden scored in the 27th minute to make it 2-1 by halftime.
In the second half, Anthony Martinez scored the equalizer for the Packers with 10 minutes to play in regulation. But just 47 seconds later, Miles Oksman delivered the answer, putting the Warriors in front 3-2 en route to the program’s first state title since 2004.
In the Class B match, Schuyler and Bennington remained tied until the 56th minute. Sophomore defender Richard Delgado came racing down the field before firing a long range shot that would serve as the game-winning goal.
“It’s amazing,” Delgado said. The decisive goal was his first of the season. “People never really expect a small town to win this. We were a really great team. We’ve come back to state three times now and we really brought it back home.”
