Nebraska coach Bo Pelini announced a recruiting class of 21 football players Wednesday afternoon, National Letter of Intent Day.
The Huskers signed up 19 freshmen and two junior college transfers, including eight from Texas, six from California and two from Nebraska.
NU is coming off a season that saw them beat Clemson in the Gator Bowl and finish 9-4 under first-year head coach Bo Pelini, a great turnaround from the 5-7 mark in 2007.
Rivals.com national recruiting editor Jeremy Crabtree says Pelini met a lot of his needs with his first full recruiting class. Rivals.com had the class ranked 27th in the nation and fourth in the Big 12. Scout.com ranked Nebraska 33rd and fifth respectively.
Top players pledged to Nebraska are quarterback Cody Green of Dayton, Texas; running back Rex Burkhead of Plano, Texas; defensive end Jason Ankrah of Gaithersburg, Maryland and linebacker Chris Williams of Abilene, Texas.
