Woman Dies In Denison Fire

A woman died and a man was injured in a Denison, Iowa house fire Saturday morning.

Firefighters called to the residence at 6:30 a.m. made their way through the flames and thick smoke searching for 37-year-old Wendy Waldemar, reported to be trapped inside. She was found in a bedroom and taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Fifty-six-year-old Craig Streck was hospitalized for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
