Twenty-Six Burgers In 10 Minutes? No Problem For Molly Schuyler

Molly Schuyler of Bellevue ate 26 burgers in 10 minutes to win the 6th annual Z-Burger Independence Burger Eating Championship on Thursday.

The competition was held in Washington D.C.

Schuyler consumed 26 quarter pound hamburgers in 10 minutes for the win, narrowly edging out Patrick "Deep Dish" Bertoletti of Chicago.

Schuyler is reportedly the number one ranked female competitive eater in the United States.

According to a Z-Burger spokesperson, she took over the lead at the 12 burger mark, then maintained a pace that kept her slightly ahead of Bertoletti, the contest’s defending champion, who finished with 25.

“I knew I had to have a perfect session today to beat Molly, and I was just a little less than perfect,” Bertoletti told Z-Burger. “Hats off to her … she’s one of the best.”

Former heavyweight boxer David Brunelli of Philadelphia finished third with 20 burgers eaten.

“This is probably one of my best competitions ever. I enjoyed it, the people were incredibly nice and it was one of the best events I’ve even attended," Schuyler told Z-Burger.
