OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Fire crews battled a house fire in a vacant home overnight. It broke out near 28th and Fort around midnight.

The fire started in a detached garage behind the house and then spread into the home.

Crews say the flames were fueled by trash inside making it difficult to get under control. They found heavy smoke and fire conditions towards the rear of the structure.

There were no injuries but the property was a total loss.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the fire to call the Arson Hotline at 402-444-FIRE (3473).
