A Marian High School history class got a dose of Irish culture Tuesday from a special guest.
The mayor of Omaha's sister city Naas, Ireland is in town to celebrate 50 years of friendship between Omaha and its first sister city in Japan.
Mayor James Lawless hosted a Q&A with the girls about his homeland and Omaha's unique relationship as a sister city.
Students wanted to know how similar Omaha is to his home town.
Lawless said, “I really like it. It's a big city but it's got a small town feel. Maybe it's just the Irish community but everyone that I've met knows someone who knows someone and then back to the original person. It's a lot like home that way."
So far Mayor Lawless has visited the zoo, Children's Hospital, Boys Town and the Holland. He says a few Irish bars made the list as well.
