LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) -- Investigators are working to figure out what led up to a deadly crash involving a semi-truck in Lincoln Thursday afternoon.
Police said the woman died when she was struck by a semi-truck in the area of Highway 6 and 98th St. around 2:15 p.m. WOWT 6 News sister station KOLN confirmed that the woman pulled her vehicle to the side of the road for an unknown reason, and was struck and killed when she stepped out of the car.
Eastbound traffic on Highway 6 is being diverted to Alvo Rd. and will continue to be for an extended amount of time.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the accident.
Authorities are advising the public to avoid traveling east on Highway 6 during the afternoon commute.
