Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts and first lady Susanne Shore unveiled the new vanity sesquicentennial license plates at the State Fair in Grand Island on Thursday.
The design incorporates the logo and branding unveiled in July for Nebraska's 150th anniversary of statehood to be celebrated in 2017. Creative inspiration for the design of the logo and branding was drawn from the Nebraska State Capitol and other iconic Nebraska images, including the state flower, flag and nature.
“Nebraskans interested in the sesquicentennial celebration plate can purchase their copy through the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles for $70,” said Director of the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles Director Rhonda Lahm. “This specialty plate will become available for purchase October 1st.”
