Family members of JaKela Foster, who was among three people murdered in a mass shooting last week, are asking for extra police presence at her services.

Foster was among eight people shot at 34th & Parker Street. She was 19 years old. Her viewing is Thursday evening and her funeral is Friday morning. Omaha Police Chief Todd Schmaderer said at a Saturday news conference that the violence was gang related. Foster was among 40 to 50 people at a house party, many including Foster had no gang connections.

Her mother said she warned her daughter not to go to the party earlier in the week fearing past violence in the area.
