Multiple fire crews from Iowa had to respond to a number of small hay bale fires near a cemetery just south of Missouri Valley, Iowa Friday morning.
Around 1:30 a.m., bales started igniting at the Old Town Conservation Area just off of Lima Trail. High winds moved the flames to more small areas. Firefighters tell WOWT 6 News they had a tough time accessing water since there are no hydrants in the area, so they used tanker trucks to extinguish the flames.
No homes were threatened and crews were able to get all the fires under control by 4:15 a.m.
