CASEY, Iowa -- A former city clerk for the small town of Casey, Iowa has been indicted for mail fraud and arson.

According to US Attorney Kevin VanderSchel, former Casey City Clerk Dorothy Dillinger is facing five counts of mail fraud for allegedly using the City's credit card to make personal purchases. She's also facing one count of malicious use of fire in connection with the blaze that destroyed the Casey Community Building shortly before midnight on August 19th, 2015.

The building housed the City Clerk's Office, where the State Auditor's Office was set to arrive the morning of the 20th. Citizens of Casey had successfully petitioned for an audit of the City's finances.

Dillinger is set to appear in court in Des Moines at the end of November.
