Douglas County Deputies Recover 87 Pounds of Marijuana in I-80 Drug Busts

Douglas County Sheriff's deputies recover 87 pounds of marijuana in three separate traffic stops on Interstate 80.

On Thursday January 29th at around 2:15 PM, a Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped an eastbound 2015 Kia Sportage on I-80 near 96th street after the driver committed a traffic infraction. During the traffic stop the Deputy became suspicious and deployed a K9 which alerted on the rear of the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed just over 13 lbs over marijuana.

The driver of the vehicle Calvin Patillar Jr, 24, and passengers Dion McKissick, 21, and Marie Renee, 28 all of Indiana, were
enroute from California to Indiana. All three were arrested and booked for possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver and failure to affix a tax stamp.

On Thu January 29th 2015 at around 6:30 PM, a Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped an eastbound 2014 Ford Escape on I-80 near 13th street after the driver committed a traffic infraction. During the stop, the deputy noticed some suspicious heatsealed, clear plastic bags in the rear cargo area, which he suspected to be marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed just over 57 lbs over packaged marijuana.

The driver of the vehicle, Matthew Wilgenbush, 49 and the passenger Larry Wilgenbush, 78, both of California were enroute from California to Iowa. Both were arrested and booked for possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver and failure to affix a tax stamp.

On Friday January 30th 2015 at around 2:10 AM, a Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped an eastbound 2015 Chevrolet Impala on I-80 near L Street after the driver committed a traffic infraction. During the traffic stop the Deputy became suspicious and deployed a K9 which alerted on the trunk of the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed just under 17 lbs. of packaged marijuana.

The driver of the vehicle, Gary Papa, Jr, 33 and Angela Guglielmo, 26 both of Pennsylvania were enroute from California to Pennsylvania. Both were arrested and booked for possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver and failure to affix a tax stamp.
