New information has surfaced on the reason for a warrant issued last month for 26-year-old Marcus Wheeler in connection with the shooting of 27-year-old Antonio Martin. An affidavit outlines that Martin had received a series of threats on Facebook.
The warrant was issued in connection with a shooting that injured Martin on September 5th.
The shooting happened around 9 a.m. at N 60th and Curtis streets. Officers found Martin there with a gunshot wound.
The victim had just dropped off his 5-year-old daughter at the residence. She was inside and unharmed.
The warrant for Wheeler’s arrest was for First Degree Assault and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony.
Authorities sought a search warrant for access to a Facebook account.
The document also outlines that Martin said Wheeler had shot at him on three previous occasions dating back to 2012.
