An Omaha man released from the hospital Wednesday was arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing his stepmother and wounding his father last weekend.
Police say 21-year-old David Brannan was being held at the Douglas County Correctional Center for second-degree murder, second-degree felony assault and two counts of use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Police say the younger Brannan is suspected of stabbing his stepmother, 33-year-old Tracy Brannan, and his father, 60-year-old Harold Brannan, early Saturday morning.
Tracy Brannan died at a hospital. The men suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident. David Brannan's wounds are believed to have been self-inflicted.
