Things have certainly changed since 1880. Funeral establishments have come and gone, and in recent years you have no doubt heard about the growth of corporate ownership of funeral homes. It has even happened here in our area. We, of course, remain family-owned and operated. Our heritage of family funeral directors offer a combined 200 years of experience in caring for your needs at a most difficult time.
We feel accountability must be to the families we serve, rather than shareholders in a corporation. It is important that you are advised and served by someone who knows the community and the traditions. We offer flexible options during the preparation of funeral arrangements, a personal touch that a family-owned business can offer.
As we embark on our second century of family service, we will continue to grow and change with you. As a longstanding member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Nebraska Funeral Directors Association, and “Order of the Golden Rule”, Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler Mortuaries maintains a strong reputation of satisfied families. We will have future generations here to serve your family as our forefathers did over 125 years ago. Meet our staff!
Funeral or Memorial Services
Funeral or memorial services can take place at a funeral home, in a church or even at your home. The service is a ceremony which serves to celebrate, honor, and remember the life of the deceased. Whether traditional or unique, both the visitation and the funeral service can be personalized to reflect the individuality of your loved one.
Visitation (also called a viewing or wake) allows family and friends to gather in a room with the departed loved one and gives everyone the opportunity to say goodbye and offer their support and sympathy to each other. It’s an important step in healing your grief.
Graveside, Chapel, or Committal Services
Graveside, chapel, or committal services are held at the cemetery, and allow family and friends to be present as their loved one is transferred to his or her final disposition through above or below ground burial.
Immediate burial means that your loved one’s physical remains will be buried or entombed without a public service or gathering.
We do this by offering a complete selection of personalization options such as memory tables, tribute videos, displays of cherished possessions, personal music choices, and other personalized forms of tribute. These special touches assure that the story of your loved one’s life will be told in a dignified, memorable way.
Grief & Healing
The death of someone you love can cause a series of emotional and physical reactions which can be bewildering and frightening. It is like “Walking Through The Valley Of Darkness.” Finding people who understand your grief reactions and allow you to express them openly is vital. Having information about the grief process can help you know that you are on the right path.
This series can help you through parts of your Valley of Darkness. It won’t answer all of your needs, nor will you be finished with your grief when you have completed the sessions. Healing a loss takes time, but knowing how to allow the healing to take place also helps. Read more here!
Weekly Luncheon Program
As part of the extended services offered by Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler Mortuaries, we invite you to dine with us every Wednesday beginning at around 11:30 a.m. at Garden Café in Rockbrook – 11040 Oak Street.
Maybe you just need to “get out of the house.” This luncheon is for anyone who has lost their spouse. Many people don’t feel like cooking and miss the company of their spouse. Come dine with others who understand. You don’t have to eat alone.
This is not a club or organization. There are no dues. Everyone pays for their own lunch. Please stop by if you can and enjoy the conversation and companionship of others.
I will be there as a representative from our Aftercare Program. We always have some tables reserved and I will be there to dine with you each week. Just ask the host for the “Heafey” tables. Others there would love to meet you!
Hope to see you on a Wednesday sometime !
