Katie Ledecky is the premier female swimmer in the world today. The 22-year-old has won five Olympic gold medals and 14 World Championship gold medals -the most by a female swimmer.
She is currently the world record holder in 400, 800, and 1500 meter freestyle events.
Katie attends and trains at Stanford University, where she is preparing for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. First, she must qualify for the games at the US Oympic Swim Trials in Omaha next year.
On Sunday Ledecky set the fastest 800 meter freestyle time in the world this year at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Bloomington. She now owns the 20 fastest times in history in that race. Up next Katie will compete at the World Championships in July.
