LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) -- With the clock running down on the 2018 Husker football season Coach Scott Frost said Monday that tough tests remain but overall improvement in the program is on track.
Others are taking note of that as well. For the second week in a row Nebraska's Adrian Martinez was named the Big 10 Freshman of the week as Devine Ozigbo was named the Bit 10 Offensive Player of the Week.
Nebraska will need those kinds of offensive sparks to bring into the Michigan State game Saturday. Frost said, "This is close to as good a defense as we've faced all year."
The coach said he knew this would be a year of gradual improvement and while he had hoped for better results, the program continued heading in the right direction.
"I think everyone can feel the momentum," Frost said. He said everyone can see where the program is going, "and that in itself has been a success."
Nebraska takes on the Spartans at 11 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Stadium.
