Husker Walk-On Brody Belt Makes Impact at Nebraska

Nebraska Walk-On Brody Belt is having an impressive spring practice. The redshirt freshman running back from Millard West has earned praise from the Husker coaching staff.

Brody Belt said: "I just think its my off season I had a really good off-season I kind of took the tools I learned in the playbook kind of translated on the field its been doing really good for me. What does it mean to walk on at Nebraska why did you decide to do that? I thought I had a opportunity with a new coach a new slate I kind of like to have a chip on my shoulder, prove what I can do. Your preparation at Millard West how did that help you get ready for Nebraska? I t help a lot Coach Kirk Peterson is a great guy, a great coach, a great role model, and a looked up to him over my time there and taught me a lot of what I needed to know and I have used his influence and guidance."

Head Coach Scott Frost said: "Brody has been a pleasant surprise watching him compete out there he has made some big plays for us on offense, practices, just a great example of a walk on that is getting his opportunities, he has made the most of it, it has been awesome to see him step up he has been one of better running backs through spring ball."

Running Backs Coach Ryan Held said: "Well he does a really good job Ross he can run he knows the offense, he know the blocking scheme up front I am really pleased about the progress he has made he is a guy I think that definitely could help us if called upon.
