Omaha Burke completed a perfect season on Monday night with a 24-20 victory over Grand Island in the Class A Championship game.
The Bulldogs finished with a 13-0 record to give Burke its first state football title in school history.
Grand Island built an 11-point halftime lead, but the Islanders weren't able to hold off Omaha Burke in the Class A Championship game. The Bulldogs stormed back behind a pair of Xavier Watts touchdown receptions in the 24-20 victory.
Islanders quarterback Cole Evans finished the game with 17 completions on 25 attempts for 158 yards. John Reilly added 58 rushing yards and a pair of scores, including a go-ahead TD in the fourth quarter.
Omaha Burke answered with a 9-play, 71-yard drive to claim the Class A title.
Grand Island suffered its third runner-up finish in program history.
