BIG EAST cancels conference tournament, spring athletic competitions
In a game where there was speculation about whether or not it would even be played all the way up until tipoff, Creighton and St. John's only got to play until halftime.
The BIG EAST, like most conferences around the country, has canceled the rest of their conference basketball tournament, which started last night at Madison Square Garden.
The game will not be completed.
The BIG EAST also announced on Thursday the cancellation of all spring competitions effective immediately.
This impacts Creighton baseball, which just announced the cancellation of their weekend series against Northern Colorado at TD Ameritrade Park.
The team was originally supposed to play Central Connecticut State, but it was announced the Blue Devils would not travel to Omaha due to fears regarding the coronavirus.
Creighton was then able to agree to play games on Friday and Sunday against Northern Colorado. The team was already in town for a mid-week series.
Now, there won't be any basketball or baseball for the foreseeable future.
