Our thanks to all those who helped us Stuff the Bus full of school supplies for the kids Saturday.
It takes lots of stuffing to stuff a bus but the campaign is going to provide a much-needed boost for the kids who would not otherwise have the tools they need to step confidently into the new school year.
We opened collections at the First National Bank at 132nd and Center Saturday morning and moved to Werner Park for the evening collections.
WOWT partnered with First National Bank, KGOR, Two Men and a Truck and the Omaha Storm Chasers for the Stuff the Bus effort but we relied on your generosity to make it a success - and again, our thanks for your contributions.
Kevin Langin, with First National Bank, said, "There's a lot of things that make a community successful and this is certainly one of them so kids are ready to go to school and they have a good experience starting out the year. That just benefits everyone."
If you couldn't make it to one of our bus stops, you can still pitch in. Visit any First National Bank in the metro and look for the Stuff the Bus box. You can donate supplies there until Monday.
