NDOT said travelers should check the status of travel conditions throughout that area online at 511.Nebraska.gov; on the Nebraska 511 app; or by calling 5-1-1.
Travelers can also use the NDOT plow-tracker to observe road conditions in real-time; however, NDOT said in its release that road conditions are sometimes worse than they appear on camera.
"Motorists are reminded to make sure everyone in their vehicle wears a seat belt and children are in a car safety seat," the NDOT release states. "Do not use cruise control in wet or snowy weather and keep a full gas tank."
Those needing help are advised to dial *55 to reach the Nebraska State Patrol; or call 9-1-1 for any emergency.
