Warrant issued for suspect in shooting of former Husker

Omaha Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man suspected of shooting 38-year-old former Husker football player Randy Stella last Wednesday. The suspect's name is Michael Coleman. He is 30 years old.


Officers were called to 109th and Emmet around 11 p.m. They found Stella suffering from a gunshot wound. According to the police report, he'd been shot in the face. The bullet appeared to have exited through the chin.

Stella was taken to the hospital for treatment and is expected to recover. He was listed in serious condition Thursday morning.

The suspect was described as a man with dreadlocks. He was wearing a red shirt and fled the scene in a Dodge pickup truck.
