URBANDALE, Iowa (AP) -- Rob Maser is going to need a bigger wallet. The Urbandale, Iowa man claimed his winnings Thursday after hitting a $2 million Powerball prize in Wednesday's drawing.
He bought the ticket at an Urbandale Kum & Go. That ticket matched the first five numbers drawn but missed the Powerball and a shot at a $250.3 jackpot. But he also purchased the Power Play option that multiplied the million dollar payday by 2.
He says he won't be quitting his job at an automotive dealership but will be fulfilling the promise he made to his father if he ever won big. He told him he'd buy him a boat. His dad is probably going to have to apologize to Rob for calling him a liar when he told him he'd won the lottery.
