OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- A search for a man reported missing on Saturday afternoon from Valley Nebraska has ended. Authorities from multiple law enforcement agencies assisting in the search confirm that the man's body has been recovered.
The search began on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Law enforcement was told at the time that the 49-year-old man had last been seen 12 hours earlier at 1 a.m.
Valley Police Officer Kenneth Dohmann said, "The pontoon boat that's associated with him and the residence was located in another part of the lake, unattended. So as a precautionary measure, we're searching the lake."
At 7:30 Monday morning a Waterloo Rescue team located the body face down in less than three feet of water just off the beach area of 142 Ginger Cove.
Valley police have identified him as Dennis J. McGuire. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
