Two people hospitalized after wreck in Sarpy County

Paramedics rushed two people, including one by medical helicopter, to the hospital after a two-vehicle wreck on Highway-50 just north of the Platte River Bridge.

Sarpy County deputies report the serious crash involves a pickup truck and a rock truck.

According to authorities on scene, the driver of the pickup truck is 28-years-old and was flown from the scene to UNMC with critical life-threatening injuries. The 58-year-old rock truck driver was taken by ambulance to Midlands with minor injuries.

As a result of the crash, authorities have shut down Highway 50 just north of Louisville.
