Police identify one of two people killed in Saturday crash

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha Police have identified one of the two people killed in a traffic accident at 37th and Dewey early Saturday morning as Justin Estrada, 18, of Omaha. The second person killed has yet to be identified.

Police are investigating a deadly traffic accident that happened at 37th and Dewey early Saturday morning.

The one-vehicle crash happened around 3:15 a.m.

Investigators said the two people killed and three others injured were traveling eastbound on Dewey in a Saturn Aura. As the car approached 37th Street it left the road to the south hitting a tree and a retaining wall.

Four of the five people involved were thrown from the car. Two of those ejected were pronounced dead at the scene. The second person who died was a male in the back seat of the car.

The three injured people were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police said Angela Alejo, 21, of Omaha was driving and suffered a serious head injury that police said is considered life-threatening.

A 19-year-old from Omaha also suffered a life-threatening head injury.

A 20-year-old Council Bluffs woman suffered a serious injury to her arm.

Police said alcohol, speed and lack of seat belt use are considered factors in this crash.
