Two arrested after Tuesday evening crash

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- Omaha Police continue to sort through a shoplifting complaint that ended with a multi-vehicle crash at 120th and Maple Tuesday night.

It began around 5:30 p.m. at the Target store near 120th and L. Officers were told about a known shoplifter in the store.

Police say they believed she was working with Bryan Grant, a wanted man who had been seen earlier in a silver Ford Focus or Fusion near 84th and F. The vehicle and plates were believed to be stolen.

When police arrived at the Target store officers were told the woman had left after ditching merchandise. A sliver Ford Focus was leaving the lot with its headlights off.

An officer tried to stop the Ford. The driver fled and hit two vehicles at 120th and West Maple.

Both occupants of the Ford, Tianna Helms, 24, and Bryan Grant, 26, were arrested.

The suspects were taken to police headquarters for interviews.

There were no serious injuries in the crash.
