Troopers seeing more arrests involving edibles

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The Nebraska State Patrol is celebrating their biggest bust of THC edibles ever.

Troopers seized more than 1,600 pounds of edible marijuana, THC wax and marijuana Friday during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 outside of Milford.

They found 488 boxes containing THC candy bars, 465 units of THC wax and 11 pounds of pot. The estimated street value was more than $550,000.

Two people from Massachusetts were arrested for drug charges.

Troopers said they rarely came across edibles before Colorado legalized marijuana.

"One in particular with the THC edibles... significant amount," NSP Lt. Matt Sutter said.

Sutter said that type of bust is mostly a result of their troopers being better at their jobs and noticing when something might be off.
