Rotten weather caused delays across the country on the first major day of the college football season.
In Lincoln, Memorial Stadium was evacuated when thunderstorms stomped on the Nebraska-Akron opener. The game was all of one kick deep when the storm took the field and ran up the score until the contest was scrubbed. Nebraska will open in Memorial Statium against Colorado next Saturday, September 8th.
There were delays for games at Ohio State, Maryland, the Air Force Academy in Colorado and the West Virginia-Tennessee game played in Charlotte, North Carolina. North Carolina A&T and East Carolina's season-opening game in Greenville, South Carolina, was postponed until Sunday.
