Smoky smell in Ralston school prompts brief evacuation

RALSTON, Neb. (WOWT) -- Karen Western Elementary School in Ralston was briefly evacuated Friday afternoon when the smell of smoke was noticed in the building.

School officials tell 6 News the issue was traced to a problem with the HVAC system that resulted in the smoky smell in the area around the front office.

Students were ushered out of the building as a precaution.

The issue was quickly resolved and the students brought back inside.

No one was hurt.
