No citations issued in accident that took 6-year-old girl's life

BELLEVUE, Neb. (WOWT) -- Authorities in Bellevue say no citations have been issued in a traffic mishap that took the life of a 6-year-old Bellevue girl Sunday evening.

Police say it happened shortly before 8 P.M. near 23rd and Emiline streets. Rescue crews arrived to find Aubrey Oregon in the street. She had no pulse.

Police say officers administered CPR until medics arrived. The child was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators said Dale Valverde, 59, of Omaha, had been asked to move a vehicle from the driveway to the street. As he pulled out of the driveway and away from the curb, police say Aubrey ran near or in front of the vehicle and was run over. Valverde was unaware it had happened.

Police said the family considered Valverde, "to be a grandfather to the child."
