Serial exposing suspect back in jail
Officials from the Women's Center for Advancement say they are deeply concerned about the behavior of an Omaha man who has been caught multiple times exposing himself in public. This weekend Anthony Triplett was arrested for the 13th time for exposing himself. Officials say this type of behavior could lead to more dangerous activity.
Police say the latest incident occurred in an apartment building downtown. Triplett was found in the stairway of the Tip Top apartment building. He was allegedly naked from the waist down and had a pornographic magazine in his hand.
Amy Richardson with the Women's Center for Advancement says this type of behavior should not be tolerated.
"It's a safety issue. It's serious. I'm sure the police officers are tired of it and every victim finds it offensive and it scares them."
Triplett does have victims out there who are trying to deal with the effects of his crimes. He has been to court and served time in jail for exposing himself in public before. Richardson worries that this could lead to more dangerous crimes.
"When they have profiled serial rapist people that have inflicted great violence on others you will see some of this type of behavior. Is it true with this person? I don't know if he's going to be the one...but the potential of physical injury to a victim obviously nothing has stopped that and it continues to escalate and we just have to have zero tolerance for this behavior in our community.
Triplett will have to stand before a judge again charged with a crime he's committed at least a dozen times. In Nebraska, public indecency is only a misdemeanor.
