OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A safe haven for survivors of sex trafficking, abuse and drug addiction is coming to Omaha.

Magdalene Omaha held a fundraiser Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. Those attending heard the story of a survivor whose life was changed through a similar safe haven after 25 years of sex trafficking, prostitution and drug addiction. "It changed my life, teaching me how to live, how to take care of myself, self-forgiveness, love," said Lori Wright.

Along with donations, an organization known as Thistle Farms sold items with part of the proceeds going toward the new facility. If all goes according to plan, Magdalene Omaha should open in 2018.
