Police looking for Bank of the West robber, accomplice

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- Omaha Police Officers on Friday afternoon were looking for a suspect in a Bank of the West robbery that happened that morning.

At 10:37 a.m. Friday, OPD was called to the scene of a robbery at the bank branch located near 87th Street and West Center Road.

Witnesses said a man wearing a ski mask and holding a firearm demanded money, then left with an unknown amount of cash, according to an OPD release.

The suspect — described as a 6-foot-4, heavy-set black man — fled in a white Mitsubishi, which was later located by officers, according to OPD reports. The driver was described as a black man with dread locks.

Witnesses claim to have seen the suspect ride off in a grey Chevy Equinox with another person, according to OPD reports.
