Report of assault escalates to HAZMAT response

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- Authorities are sorting through an incident that began with a report of an assault around 9 o'clock Monday morning and escalated to a HAZMAT response.

It happened in the 300 block of South, 108th Ave.

Police say two victims said that an unknown person sprayed them with what they believed was mace.

The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of an unknown chemical exposure.

That was followed by an evacuation of the Hawthorn Suites hotel at that location. HAZMAT responded.
