Power outage knocks out electricity in West Omaha

A power outage knocked out electricity to more than 1,300 customers in West Omaha Friday.

Customers lost power at 1:39 p.m.

At 4:15, the Omaha Public Power District said the outage "was caused by a bad cable. A number of customers have power back, now, but our crews have more work to do to restore the remaining customers."

As for those who remained without electricity, OPPD said, "unfortunately, it will be some time before their power is restored. We do not have an estimated time frame, yet.

The outage included the Costco store on West Dodge. A manager told 6 News that they closed at 3 p.m. They're monitoring developments to make a determination on when they will reopen.
