Police tweet serves as reminder for construction zone safety

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- An Omaha police officer served up a visual reminder of why it’s a great idea to pay attention when you’re driving through a construction zone.

The officer tweeted video around 2 o’clock Tuesday morning of water flowing down Maple Street.

You'll see a fire hydrant in the middle of the road. A vehicle hit it at 72nd Street.

The westbound lane was closed while crews worked on righting what went wrong here.

The officer noted that the water was flowing under new pavement.
