Police discover 55 pounds of cocaine during traffic stop
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office discovered nearly $750,000 worth of cocaine during a traffic stop on Sunday.
A deputy pulled over a 2006 Volvo semi tractor-trailer truck around 5:30 p.m. for multiple driving violations, near Mile Marker 396 on Interstate 80.
During the stop, a police K-9 alerted the deputy of possible narcotics in the vehicle. After a search, 25 kilo packages, or 55 pounds, of cocaine were discovered, estimated at roughly $750,000.
Authorities then arrested 56-year-old Gustavo Zamora, 56, of San Gabriel, California.
He was lodged for possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. Police believe that Zamora was coming from California, but are unsure where he was headed.
