OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Lots of clouds today will keep temperatures from warming up much. so far we have struggled to make it into the lower 30s. We should warm to around 35 this afternoon, perhaps warmer if we can get some sunshine. Winds are coming in out of the southwest between 10 and 15mph, producing wind chills in the lower 20s. Winds will continue out of the southwest through the day but temperatures will not warm up much. Overnight, clouds will thicken back up and we will have to watch for some patchy dense fog by Tuesday morning.
More sunshine is expected on Tuesday along with milder temperatures. We should see highs climbing into the middle and upper 30s with a little bit of melting going on. Slightly cooler air arrives on Wednesday but temperatures should still top out in the lower 30s.
A weak storm system will slide by on Thursday with a chance for a light wintry mix early in the day. Some light rain or snow is looking more likely, mainly between Midnight and 6am Thursday. A more significant storm will arrive on Friday, bringing a huge drop in temperatures and the potential for more accumulating snow. Temperatures will likely drop into the single digits or even below zero over the weekend. Stay tuned for updates as we work out the details on this next system.
