OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- An Omaha teenager will be charged as an adult in the January murder of Adam Angeroth, 38, of Council Bluffs.

Pottawattamie County Attorney Matt Wilber said 16-year-old Xavier Smith-Catchings appeared in a waiver hearing Thursday morning and the judge agreed to transfer Smith-Catchings from juvenile to adult court.

Formal charges will be filed by the Pottawattamie County Attorney’s Office on April 5.

Previously, two other suspects — Nicholas Haner, 20, of Harlan, Iowa; and Liam Stec, 21, of Omaha — were also named as suspects in Angeroth’s murder.
