An Omaha elementary school is going above and beyond to motivate its students. Laura Dodge Elementary students are taking the NESA this week. The state test is a snap shot of what students have learned during the school year.

Laura Dodge Elementary has been preparing its students all year long and in motivating them this week, teachers and other faculty created signs to welcome kids to school in the morning to get them excited to take the NESA. They also decorated lockers and filled the hallways will balloons.

Principal Cody Hays says it's a great way to pump up the kids and take away some of the nerves.

"It’s all about getting that positive message out in the community. It's a wonderful school and wonderful community with great kids and great families, and we're just happy to represent them,” said Hays.

Teachers even made a carpool karaoke video. You can find that on Laura Dodge Elementary's Facebook page.
