New hotel will cater to downtown Omaha visitors

Just two blocks from TD Ameritrade Park, the Cambria Hotel will be another spot for visitors of downtown Omaha when it opens this fall.
There are more than 15,000 hotel rooms in Omaha, and the number keeps growing. It's an important statistic to keep in mind as the city continues to lure or retain big events like March Madness, U.S. Olympic trials and the College World Series.
"We're so happy to be a neighbor down here," said Licia Keller, the hotel's general manager.
The new hotel will feature an all-purpose conference room and some rooms with great views.
"Our tower rooms. They're beautiful rooms. They're ceiling to floor windows that overlook the Ameritrade Park," said Keller.
The bathrooms of the Cambria Hotel are equipped with a Bluetooth mirror. If you sync up your cell phone and hit play, you can listen to music.
There will also be a restaurant and bar with a neighborhood twist.
"Using some of the local breweries and have those beers on tap," explained Keller.
Local brewers are excited.
"Yeah, it's going to be amazing. People can get a little bit of a taste for us over there and then they can kind of come over here and find some of the other stuff that we do," said Chase Purcell of Zipline Brewing Co.
The hotel is hoping to draw in a wide variety of guests with their prime location.
"We'll just have the opportunity to welcome guests, welcome corporate travelers, welcome groups that want to entertain their business clients an things. It's the perfect location for that," said Keller.
Keller said they hope to open the hotel either late Oct. or early Nov.
The hotel will have 128 rooms and 12 suites.
