Linda Twomey has assumed responsibilities as the Executive Director of the Siena/Francis House Homeless Shelter.
Ms. Twomey’s most recent employment was with the Department of Veterans Affairs for the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System. She served as the Program Director for Mental Health Specialty Programs there since 2012 and supervised homeless programming since 2008.
Twomey joined the VA in 2003 as a staff social worker in the Mental Health Clinic. Prior to that, she served in various capacities at Boys Town and Boys Town National Research Hospital.
“Linda’s depth and breadth of experience working in the areas of housing, mental health, clinical services, management and other programming will encourage our mission to provide the most needed services to people experiencing homelessness,” Siena/Francis House Board Chair Rob Wellendorf said. “The Siena/Francis House Homeless Shelter is fortunate to have such a highly-qualified person join us as Executive Director.”
In her new role Twomey is responsible for all aspects of leadership, including focusing on Siena/Francis House’s mission and strategic goals. Her responsibilities also include working with the Board of Directors and Omaha’s philanthropic community in a strategic planning update process, reviewing current programming and outcomes.
